What is Covered in a Typical Home Inspection?

In keeping with the CAHPI Atlantic standard, the focus of the inspection can be broken primarily into the following nine (9) parts:

  1. Roof
  2. Structure
  3. Electrical
  4. Heating
  5. Air conditioning and Heat Pumps
  6. Plumbing
  7. Exterior
  8. Insulation and Ventilation
  9. Interior

Each of the components above, are inspected and then documented in a comprehensive report, which we call RGM Home Inspection Services’ “Home Reference Book“.

Each inspection includes a detailed report. At the end of the inspection we provide a full report enclosed in a large binder. This RGM Home Inspection Services “Home Reference Book” contains over 400 pages of reference reports and diagrams detailing and explaining every major component of the home.

As an added value, RGM’s “Home Reference Book” contains a Life Cycle & Costs chart, Maintenance recommendations, and a Filing System for you to keep important papers such as surveys, mortgage documents, and more!

Our Inspection and Report will leave you in a much better position to make your very important decision, adding significantly to your knowledge of your home. However, we are not able to tell you everything. All home inspections are entirely visual. No invasive testing is performed.
