Usually, Home
Inspectors are not trained or qualified to act a Real
Estate agents. Similarly, Real Estate agents are salespeople,
generally not trained nor qualified to do a independent
professional home inspection. CAHPI Atlantic does not
allow it’s
members to be active real estate agents, simply due to
the possibility of conflict of interest. For that reason,
suggesting that a buyer purchase a home without first
seeking a Professional Home Inspection would be as unethical
as a Home Inspector suggesting a
negotiating price or advising whether or not to purchase
a home to a client. A client has every right to expect
professionalism.
